The Challenge:

Based outside of Boston, John Pratti started his career in the financial industry over a decade ago. However, as time went on, he realized he needed a new approach to grow revenue, onboard new clients, and implement an account minimum. So, he turned to Peak Advisor Alliance for support in the fall of 2014. By the beginning of 2015, John knew it was time to take meaningful action, as his coach encouraged him to step outside of his comfort zone and focus on a plan for client acquisition that would help him not only attract A+ clients, but subsequently keep them as raving fans and referral sources. Together, they devised a multi-step process to replicate John’s A+ clients through referrals and prospecting events.

The Coaching:

In the beginning of year, John was initially apprehensive about doing Peak’s A+ Action Plan. His coach, Tim, assured him that properly leveraging this exercise would lead to growing his business in a way that aligned with his mission. So, John set up a one-on-one advisory council with his top clients, meeting with two or three of them each month. These clients gave John important insight into why they chose his firm and what they valued most, which in turn allowed him to develop and improve his service model. The meetings also presented a great opportunity for him to describe his referral process and coach his A+ clients on how to spread his story. Each time he walked away with new contacts, and, as an added bonus, he often uncovered new assets from his existing clients. Quite the foodie, John also decided to tap into local tradition and host a clambake passion prospecting event at his country club. This event let John share his own interests while enjoying time with his clients, leading to even more referrals.

The Solution:

Pleased with the results of his advisory meetings, John looked to expand his reach to include select A clients in 2016. He also turned his successful clambake into an annual event, which is sure to draw his New England clients and their friends. With Peak’s assistance, John made the progress he had so desperately needed. He’s now several steps and several clients closer to building a meaningful business serving those who see the value he provides.
